School Advisory Commision
School Advisory Commission
The responsibilities of the School Advisory Commission (SAC), in cooperation with the pastor and principal, provide support, which includes recommending a mission statement for the school grounded in Catholic faith tradition, recommending policy, setting long-range goals for the school, developing means to finance the school (to include tuition structures, financial development, and fundraising), promoting communications, public relations, and evaluating the school’s goals and plans.
SAC has the power to act as a commission only when in session. Any parent or teacher wishing to speak with SAC may do so at regular or special meetings, but shall have the approval of the president prior to the meeting. If there is a specific topic to discuss, it must be submitted to the SAC president at least 24 hours in advance.
During most months, SAC meets on the last Thursday of each month at 5:30PM in the school’s multipurpose room.

Mark Austin: Mark, a parishioner at Christ the King, has a second-grader and a preschooler at CKCS, and one younger child. Professionally, Mark works as a Vice President of Finance and previously as a Corporate Controller. He brings financial expertise to his seat on SAC as he works on strategic planning and actively contributes to the school finance committee to support CKCS's mission.
Danny Bahnmiller: Since 2006, Danny has been a devoted parishioner at Christ the King. With two kids having gone through CK, one currently in 6th grade, and another in the preschool, his commitment to the school's mission is rooted in his Catholic faith and support for the community. Outside of SAC, Danny works as a physician specializing in women's healthcare and aesthetics.
Kelli Kania: Married at Christ the King Catholic Church and a current parishioner, Kelli and her husband have two children attending CKCS. As a parent who values Catholic school education, Kelli joined SAC to contribute to Christ the King's mission and its growth. Kelli brings a wealth of experience from St. Patrick's Catholic school, where she attended as a child and worked as an adult. Kelli's professional background is in marketing, but she is currently serving her highest calling at home with her children.
Melanie Iglesias: Melanie, a pediatrician dedicated to the care of children, has been a parishioner at CK Church since relocating to the Tri-Cities from Chicago four years ago. She is an active member of the Catholic Medical Association and volunteers for the Order of Malta American Association. Melanie has sponsored various events at CK and is committed to offering assistance whenever possible. She aims to advocate for the implementation of new opportunities at CK to enhance academic offerings and provide international exposure, all within a safe Catholic environment, to help expand our children's minds.
Winnie Magdangal: Winnie together with her husband, have been active parishioners of Christ the King Catholic Church since moving into the Tri-Cities back in 2012. She has a daughter currently entering 4th Grade, and she has experienced exceptional education, which is the primary reason she got involved in SAC, to help continue the tradition and long-term success of the School and Church that provides students with academic excellence and instills a service mindset while building a strong foundation of the Catholic Faith and giving back to the community through her service for others. Having a background in healthcare, working as a Doctor of Physical Therapy and the head of the Couples for Christ Ministry of East WA with her husband, she brings her experience of providing unconditional service, compassion and love to the variety of people she encounters and carries it over into her new role as SAC member.
Brock Sande: Brock and his wife have been dedicated Christ the King parishioners for a decade. With three kids currently attending the school and one more planning to join, Brock is passionate about supporting the school's mission to educate the whole child – mind, body, and spirit. Beyond SAC, Brock works as a clinic manager and prosthetist/orthotist.
Corey Short: Corey and his wife have been part of the CK parish community since 2007, with two kids currently at CK – in 7th and 3rd grade – and two more children as alum. Having previously served on the SAC and related committees at CKCS and other Catholic schools, he is committed to sustaining and enhancing the educational and religious experiences of CK children. When not involved in SAC activities, Corey works as a portfolio strategist for a software company.
Eric Wiedner: As a professional research chemist, parishioner at Christ the King, and proud Crusader parent for 6 years, Eric is committed to the school's reputation for academic excellence and catechesis of the faith.
